The Barlow Taphouse is an energetic up-market Taphouse set in a restored vintage building. It features local and natural ingredients, a unique menu, and wide selection of alcoholic beverages. The Barlow contains industrial steel, concrete floors, reclaimed wood and custom lighting combined to create a uniquely warm backdrop for your dining experience. The restaurant serves upscale comfort foods such as burgers, salads, poutine, pasta, steaks and fish. I designed the Barlow brand to cater to a more mature audience. We’ve all gotten to a point where we see through the gimmicks and glitz of a flashy bar, and the visual cues are designed to show the substance and authenticity of the establishment. I used an eroded typeface to give it a gritty honest pub feeling, and I used the circular water stain motif to remind us how much we want a refreshing spirit on a Friday night.
