This is a fictitious handcrafted single malt whiskey is brought to you buy the founders of Rotterdam, Gürdon and Hikkersen. Rotterdam’s attractive character reflects its location being established off of the Rotte River in a vintage industrial watermill, revealing the aspects of traditional style old Dutch whisky. The name Rotterdam means muddy water, which I found best describes the whisky. The design and the branding was a modern-vintage look that makes it stand out from the whisky shelves at the lcbo. This single malt whisky reflects a subtle smoky aroma of peat, iodine, toffee apple, pinecone and briar. On the palate it's warm and smoky with a dense, mouth-filling quality like a rolling cloud. With a few drops of distilled water, notions of baked apple emerge and the smoothness of the Scandinavian spirit comes to the fore. It’s smooth sweet drama finishes impressively long, with a smoky power.
