Your choice comes first

You can browse this portfolio and unlock case studies without accepting analytics. Google Analytics does not load until you choose Accept. Ignoring the notice or choosing Decline keeps it off. The site remembers your preference for up to six months in a first-party cookie; this preference is not an analytics identifier. If cookies are blocked, the choice applies only to the current page.

Use Cookie settings in the footer to change your choice. Withdrawing consent stops future measurement and clears this site’s Google Analytics cookies; it does not automatically delete information already sent to Google.

What analytics measures

With permission, Google Analytics helps me understand visits, referral sources, device and browser categories, and time pages spend active in the browser. The site also measures which unlocked case studies and numbered sections are viewed, project and contact-link clicks, and successful contact-form submissions. Active time is an estimate, not proof that someone read the work.

The site sends selected page and event labels, not passwords, names, email addresses, message contents, private case-study copy, screenshots, media keys or media URLs. Password-entry screens are never measured. URL query strings and fragments are excluded from the page addresses the site supplies to Analytics, and referral addresses are reduced to their website origin.

Google receives technical connection information when your browser contacts it and processes analytics data under its own policies. This is not anonymous browsing or a promise that Google cannot associate information it receives. Google’s script runs in the browser after consent. Advertising personalization and Google Signals are disabled in this site’s configuration; this site does not use session recordings.

The site configures its analytics cookies with a maximum lifetime of six months. Separately, this property’s event-data retention is set to 2 months and user-data retention to 14 months. The user-data retention period resets when new activity occurs. These settings do not limit standard aggregated reports in the same way. Learn more about Google Analytics data retention.

Case-study access

A necessary, session-only first-party cookie remembers a derived decryption credential for unlocked case studies, with an eight-hour safety limit. It is not the original password. If cookies are unavailable, same-tab session storage may be used instead. This credential is sensitive: do not share it. It is never included in this site’s analytics events. A browser’s session-restore feature may preserve session cookies.

Contact messages and hosting

If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you provide are sent to Basin to deliver your enquiry to me. I use those details to respond, not as analytics event data. Please do not submit passwords, patient information or other confidential material. See Basin’s privacy policy.
